One of the big issues for young people and their parents is tracking down accurate,  reliable information about career opportunities.
My site aims to help by highlighting online resources that are genuinely helpful among the mountains of confusing dross.

Today the focus is on Creative Choices which is dedicated to helping you develop your career in the creative and cultural industries.

The site has been developed by Creative & Cultural Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the creative and cultural industries, and was founded following demand from employers across the creative sector for better information about working in the industry.

They recognised the need to offer clear and accessible information, advice and guidance to aspiring creative types throughout their careers and especially to young people thinking about entering the industry.

The site provides information, advice and resources to help you build skills, find new opportunities, or get a better idea about a particular job or career path.

In Particular:

Industry insights – case studies about real people: their advice, experiences and what a creative career is really like.

Develop your career – advice and information to help you develop the skills you need for the career you want.

Creative voices – what people in the industry are talking about.

Jobs and opportunities – adverts for jobs, information on training courses and other opportunities to develop your skills and career.

Tools and resources – downloadable information, training tools and other resources to help develop your own skills or support your creative business.

You can register with the site to save articles to your account (to read later) and receive a fortnightly newsletter.

In addition to the main site they have developed the following online resources which focus on particular creative careers:

Get into Theatre
Get into Design
Get into Jewellery
Get into Heritage
Get into Music

This is a great set of resources for young people,  parents, teachers and careers advisers.
